

OLIVER CAMERON

Brisbane-born actor Oliver Cameron began his career on the stage, appearing in close to 20 theatre productions before branching out to film. Since then, he has starred in countless short and feature-length films, leaning towards unique characters and memorable projects. Recently, Cameron played the lead role of troubled teen Kesson in award-winning director Jake Moss’ drama feature Hood Safari which was shot entirely on Hi-8 and Mini DV tape. Later that year, he played the lead role of struggling US actor Antony Bogarde in the 16mm surrealist feature Phillip Philadelphia by award-winning director Adam C. Briggs. He has trained with Queensland Theatre and various esteemed acting coaches including Miranda Harcourt and Christopher Sommers, the latter of whom he acted alongside in the award-winning short film The Trip.
A filmmaker himself, Cameron has written and directed several short films of his own and supplements his filmmaking with music and writing, having composed soundtracks for various short films.
Cameron is the founding member of indie rock band Sacred Groves whose debut album, which he wrote entirely and produced, has reached almost 5000 listeners on Spotify. Cameron has also composed a number of orchestral and soundtrack pieces, many of which he incorporates into his films.
